Report reveals Southampton’s stance on selling Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg to Spurs

Football Insider have revealed that Southampton are likely to cash in on Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg this summer amidst interest from Tottenham and Everton.

Hojbjerg has been heavily linked with a move to North London over recent weeks and has thrown more than a few hints that he is open to leaving the Saints.

The midfielder admitted in the past that he is flattered to be linked with the Lilywhites (Viaplay via BT) and also revealed that he has informed Southampton of his desire to play at a higher level (Sport 1).

Southampton manager, Ralph Hasenhuttl, recently hinted that the club may have to sell the midfielder if he does not sign a new deal (BBC Solent Sport).

Football Insider now claim that the 24-year-old has rejected multiple contract offers from the Saints and the club have thus decided that they would be better off selling him this summer.

It is revealed that the club have already identified Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham as the Denmark international’s replacement and are prepared to accept a lower fee than the £25million they demanded for Hojbjerg in January.

Spurs Web Opinion

It seems clear that Hojbjerg wants to come to Spurs and that Southampton are prepared to sell him. He also perfectly fits the profile of the kind of player we need in midfield. I just hope Levy does not drag out the negotiations trying to save as much money as he could, thus allowing Everton to swoop in for him.
