Report reveals Spurs frustrations with Kane started last summer under Mourinho

The Athletic have reported that Tottenham’s frustrations with star striker Harry Kane started last year under Jose Mourinho.

The report claims that some at the club, including Mourinho, were irritated by Kane’s late return from his summer holiday.

Kane and his family chose to fly to the Bahamas for their summer break, however, while away, the UK government put the country on the red list. This meant Kane had to self-isolate for 14 days upon returning to England.

In turn, this caused the England captain to miss a hefty chunk of pre-season, with the report hinting that Spurs were frustrated he did not return sooner.

There was reportedly a belief within the club that this contributed to Kane’s sluggish performance in the opening day defeat to Everton.

This news all comes after Harry Kane decided not to show up for training at Hotspur Way yesterday, with the Telegraph claiming he would stay away until finding out whether or not the club would sell him.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Unfortunately for Kane, I think he is going to be the big loser from this. If Man City don’t come in with a big bid or Spurs don’t want to sell, he may regret this rather ill-timed decision.
