Report reveals Spurs have never had to field any serious interest in Heung-min Son

Heung-min Son is a ‘favourite’ of Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte, and the same was said of former bosses Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho too, according to the Telegraph.

The Telegraph also revealed that Tottenham have not had to field any serious interest in Son across his seven years in North London, with one club source stating: “If there has been, then Daniel (Levy) certainly hasn’t let on to anybody!”

Son has grown into one of the best forwards in the world since Spurs acquired him in a £22 million deal from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 (BBC Sport).

Despite his first season in England starting slowly, the 29-year-old has gone on to score 127 times in 321 appearances (Transfermarkt), becoming a figure in North London.

He has also formed a fearsome partnership with England captain Harry Kane in that time, with the pair recently claiming the Premier League record for most goal contributions.

And Son, who is Tottenham’s leading scorer in the top flight this term, has quickly emerged as a treasured squad member by current head coach Conte, as per the Telegraph.

The same report notes the South Korea international was also adored by former manager Pochettino, who was in charge at Spurs when he was signed by the club, as well as Mourinho, despite his relatively short tenure.

Son is essentially the model player that every manager wants to have in their squad, for both his work and dedication on and off the pitch.

All three aforementioned managers, who are pretty big names, have sung Son’s praises on plenty of occasions before which is a big testament to him and shows how lucky Spurs are to have him.
