Report reveals Spurs ‘realise’ what it would take for a Mauricio Pochettino return to happen

A potential reunion between Tottenham Hotspur and Mauricio Pochettino is a long way off according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that club insiders at Tottenham are fully aware that it would take the Argentine from being dismissed from his current role at Paris Saint-Germain to set the wheels in motion for a return to his old employer.

Pochettino took up the role in the French capital in January, having signed a contract until June 2022 with the option of a further year having replaced Thomas Tuchel (BBC).

It took the former PSG player just a matter of days to win his first piece of managerial silverware having lifted the Trophee des Champions and also went on to win the Coupe de France earlier this month.

Despite the success in domestic cup competitions, PSG were knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage and also missed out on the Ligue 1 title by a single point to Lille.

Spurs are still yet to appoint a replacement for Jose Mourinho, who was dismissed by Daniel Levy last month after the club dropped from top the Premier League table in November to seventh and also saw their Europa League hopes ended by Dinamo Zagreb.
