Report reveals that Conte is keen on bringing 24-year-old forward to Spurs

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Antonio Conte remains keen on reuniting with Lautaro Martinez at Tottenham this summer.

It was previously reported that Inter Milan would have to cash in on one of either Matinez or Alessandro Bastonoi during this summer’s transfer window, due to their financial issues (The Athletic).

Tottenham’s pursuit of Bastoni seemingly fell through this week when the centre-back’s agent insisted that his client will be staying put at Inter (Football Italia).

Earlier this month, it was reported that Martinez was also on Spurs’ radar, with the North London club said to be on the lookout for a forward (GiveMeSport).

If Pedulla’s latest update is to be believed, Conte continues to eye a move for the Argentina international this summer.

The report claims that the 24-year-old is happy at Inter and wants to stay, but that has not ended Tottenham’s interest in the forward.

Pedulla claims that Inter will look to ‘resist’ Spurs’ advances for Martinez but adds that the Nerazzurri are also tempted to try and bring Romelu Lukaku back to the club.

I have a sneaky feeling that Spurs will go back in with a sizable offer for Martinez later in the transfer window. Inter’s financial situation is well documented and with Bastoni now set to stay, they might decide to cash in on the Argentine, who is their other prized asset.
