Report reveals that RB Leipzig lost some vital gear at the airport before Spurs clash

Tottenham Hotspur took on RB Leipzig in North London last night, with both sides bidding to reach the Champions League quarter-finals this season.

Spurs were at home for the first leg but failed to make that advantage count as the Germans ran away to a 1-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This means that Julian Nagelsmann’s side have both a lead and a vital away goal to protect and build on back in Germany in three weeks.

Spurs are left in a similar position to the one they were in against Ajax in the semi-final of last season’s tournament, after losing the home leg 1-0.

In Amsterdam, Tottenham pulled off the unthinkable, coming from 3-0 down on aggregate to go through on away goals after a superb Lucas Moura hat-trick.

However, if Spurs are to do the same again, they will certainly need to remember to bring the shirts with them.

A report has now revealed that Leipzig managed to lose a box of shirts at the airport when flying into London ahead of the match (Daily Mail).

This is why certain players, such as Timo Werner, could be seen wearing shirts with a different sponsor design last night.

It didn’t seem to affect the German striker though, who found the back of the net from the penalty spot, the only goal in the game.
