Report reveals that Spurs sent AVB to scout current Wolves star way back in 2013

Adama Traore is arguably now one of Wolves’ most potent attackers and one of the fastest players in the Premier League.

He has scored five goals for his current club this season after joining Wolves from Middlesbrough in 2018. Traore came through the ranks at Barcelona before making a move to England with Aston Villa (Wikipedia).

It has now been revealed that Tottenham were actually interested in the player back in October 2013, with Andre Villas-Boas then in charge of the Lilywhites (BBC).

The now-24-year-old was just a teenager at the time, playing for the Barcelona B-team when AVB was sent on a scouting mission to watch him against Deportivo La Coruna.

However, it was seemingly deemed that Tottenham already had good enough options on the wings with Aaron Lennon, Nacer Chadli, Andros Townsend, and Erik Lamela.

AVB also never even made it to the next transfer window as Spurs manager, as he was sacked just two months after scouting Traore.
