Report reveals the number of issues Conte and Spurs had during talks

Tottenham Hotspur’s breakdown in negotiations with Antonio Conte saw both parties have differing opinions on a number of matters, according to Goal.

One of the main issues during talks was the subject of transfer plans for next season with the Italian having said to have requested a sizeable war chest to overhaul the squad, while chairman Daniel Levy was not prepared to meet his expectations.

A second disagreement occurred over the future of Harry Kane. The Spurs striker is rumoured to want out of North London this summer and Conte wanted assurances that if the England captain was sold, he would receive at least part of a fee to reinvest in sourcing a replacement.

Conte’s wage demands were also not in line with what the club were expecting to offer while there was also a reluctance to grant the former Inter Milan boss the ability to bring in an agreed number of backroom staff.

Tottenham are fast becoming a laughing stock in the managerial search and with the transfer window set to open, we are risking our chances in the market to source quality players.

Who in their right mind would want to sign for a club which is currently without a manager and are in disarray. Daniel Levy and the board need to move fast.
