Report reveals the two forwards who are top of Spurs’ wish-list in the summer

According to a report by 90min, Stuttgart’s Nicolas Gonzalez and Lille’s Jonathan Bamba are both on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Jose Mourinho has plenty of attacking talent at his disposal but apart from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, none of the others have shown consistency throughout the campaign.

Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela have been decent in spells while Steven Bergwijn started the season well but has tailed off over the last few months.

Gareth Bale seems to have hit form over recent weeks after a tough start to the campaign but the Welshman’s recent comments about returning to Real Madrid have cast doubt on his future.

90 min claims Spurs are looking to bolster their wide options, with Gonzalez said to be ranked near the top of their wishlist.

It was previously reported (Athletic’s David Ornstein) that Spurs have already begun talks with Stuttgart for the Argentine, who has scored six goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances this season.

90min claim that the German club would be willing to sell the 22-year-old for around £27m in the summer.

Meanwhile, Bamba has had an outstanding campaign for Lille, scoring six and assisting nine times in Ligue 1 this season.

The report claims that the Frenchman, who Lille are open to cashing in on, is another name on a long list of forwards Spurs are considering ahead of the summer transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

Bamba and Gonzalez are both talented players but they are not the sort of names that Spurs fans are likely to be excited by. While Bamba could be a decent squad player, I do not really see either him or Gonzalez as players who would improve our starting eleven.

Signing Bamba would be a gamble as wide players who come from Ligue 1 sometimes struggle to achieve the same success in the Premier League. If Bale does not return to Spurs, we need someone tried and tested like Danny Ings, who could play in a variety of positions and could get 15-plus goals.
