Report reveals the two main attributes Spurs want in a new manager

The Athletic have claimed that Tottenham want their next manager to have a real coaching pedigree and a commitment to front-foot football.

A whole host of names have been linked with the managerial vacancy at Tottenham since Jose Mourinho’s sacking last month.

However, we do not appear to be any closer to finding out who Spurs are going to appoint, with there not being any clear favourite.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that any chance Ryan Mason had of getting the job on a permanent basis was ended after Tottenham’s 3-1 loss to Leeds United earlier his month.

The journalist also added that Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter are the two head coaches that ‘tick’ all of the boxes that Spurs are looking for.

The Athletic have now shed more light on the type of candidate the North London club want to bring in.

They explain that the club want the new coach to be capable of improving young players with his coaching while also employing an attacking style of play rather than a pragmatic one which was witnessed under Mourinho.
