Report reveals the two PL clubs still interested in Tottenham’s Harry Winks

The Evening Standard have revealed that Southampton and Nottingham Forest both remain interested in Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks.

With just a week left until the transfer window closes, Winks does not appear to be close to sealing an exit from Tottenham.

Fabrizio Romano revealed in Tuesday’s edition of Here We Go Podcast that the England international was attracting interest from Spain as well as from around Europe.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio then stated on Wednesday that Sampdoria had moved into pole position in the race for the Spurs midfielder.

Samdorioa’s interest in Winks has now been backed up by The Evening Standard but the publication states the 26-year-old has doubts over moving to the Serie A club.

The report asserts that Winks does not fancy a move to Italy and would prefer to stay in the Premier League. Southampton and Forest are among the clubs who could reportedly make a late move for the Spurs academy graduate.

It is also revealed Everton and Leicester expressed interest in Winks earlier this summer but their interest has now cooled.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would not be surprised if a couple of more Premier League clubs enter the race for Winks before the transfer window closes. Despite his struggles for game time at Spurs over the last two years, I believe that the 26-year-old would improve a lot of teams in the Premier League.
