Report reveals there could be a twist in the Vlahovic saga amidst Spurs interest

Corriere Fiorentino have revealed that Fiorentina have not yet given up hope of tying down rumoured Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic to a new contract.

Over the last few weeks, there has been plenty of speculation linking Spurs with a move for Vlahovic.

Gianluca Di Marzio gave a comprehensive update to Sky Sports about the Serbian international’s future earlier this week, explaining that a January exit is unlikely for the striker.

The journalist suggested that Spurs, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are eyeing a move for the 21-year-old next summer.

Corriere Fiorentino have now explained that the striker’s representatives have had contact with Spurs and that Antonio Conte remains a big fan of the Viola star.

The report claims that Arsenal had even raised their previous €80m (£68m) offer for Vlahovic but the striker has no intention of moving to the Emirates in January.

It is suggested that Juve’s financial owes might scupper their plans of snapping up the centre-forward.

Finally, the report adds that the Fiorentina hierarchy have still not given up hope of getting the striker to extend his stay at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.

The Serie A club’s chairman Rocco Commisso is said to have put a new proposal on the table, which is thought to be higher than the €5m (£4.2m) offer that Vlahovic previously rejected.

It seems like there has been a new development on Vlahovic’s future almost every single day for the past month. It is likely that there are plenty more twists and turns in the saga before the January transfer window opens, particularly given that the 21-year-old’s impressive run of form shows no signs of dissipating.
