The Telegraph have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are set to target Lille centre-back Sven Botman in the summer transfer window.
Spurs were not able to strengthen in central defence during January, with Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur being the club’s only two additions.
The Telegraph claim that Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici will prioritise signing a new centre-back when the transfer window reopens in the summer, with Botman at the top of his wishlist.
However, the report reveals that Spurs are expected to face plenty of competition for the Netherlands international.
Newcastle United and AC Milan are both said to have shown interest in signing the 22-year-old in January but they were allegedly put off by Lille’s €55m (£46m) valuation.
The report backs both the Magpies and the Rossoneri to reignite their interest in Botman in the summer.
The Telegraph add that Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni and RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol are the other options on Tottenham’s radar.

From the three names listed in the report, it is evident that Conte is prioritising strengthening at left centre-back in the summer. The three targets also suggest that Paratici is looking to build for the long-term by signing young, up and coming players.
