Report reveals three concerns Conte has regarding the Tottenham job

According to a report in the print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), Antonio Conte is having some concerns over whether Tottenham would be the right project for him.

Some reports have indicated that it is only a matter of time before the deal to bring Conte to Spurs is officially announced.

However, a few sources from Italy have claimed that the former Chelsea boss remains unconvinced about taking the Tottenham job.

Gazzetta dello Sport have now explained that Conte is flattered by Tottenham’s offer and is keen to manage again in the Premier League.

The 51-year-old is said to admire the North London club’s facilities but he is alleged to have three main concerns – ‘the football dimension of the club, the market and Harry Kane’s desire to leave.’

The report adds that Conte is assessing the offer and that the Italian would only accept it if he believes he has at least a small shot of winning the title.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not surprised that the appointment is taking as long as it is, as Conte is likely to want certain assurances. So the two parties will likely have to negotiate on what is possible and what is not. If Conte is appointed, I would be surprised if we do not make a decent splash in the market this summer.
