Report reveals Tottenham midfielder is now out injured

The Evening Standard have now reported that Tottenham’s new signing, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, is out injured, which is why he missed the Europa League clash last night.

Spurs started with a midfield duo of Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele in North Macedonia as they faced off against Shkendija in the knockout qualifier.

However, Hojbjerg was not even included on the bench, raising question marks as to whether he was injured in the previous match against Southampton.

The Danish star picked up an early knock in the game at St Mary’s as he returned to face his old team, with Romeu hitting him with a studs-up challenge to the ankle.

While it is not confirmed as to whether this was the source of the problem, the Standard did reveal that Hojbjerg missed out with an injury rather than due to squad rotation.

The report also claimed that Hojbjerg could be part of a new-look Spurs midfield with Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele under Mourinho.
