Report reveals Tottenham rejected player swap deal from PSG for Dele Alli

According to a report from Le Parisien, Paris Saint-Germain have suggested multiple scenarios to convince Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to part ways with Dele Alli, including a swap deal involving two PSG players coming to North London.

Alli’s future continues to be the source of much speculation as we head into the final few days of the transfer window.

Multiple sources (RMC Sport and Fabrizio Romano) have claimed that Tottenham want to bring in a replacement before letting the midfielder join the Parisians on loan.

Le Parisien have now also reiterated that claim and stated that Christian Eriksen is the player Spurs want as Alli’s replacement but suggest that the Dane is unlikely to return to his former club before the end of the month.

The report asserts that the PSG hierarchy have tried to include Idrissa Gueye and Julian Draxler in a swap deal for the England international but such suggestions did not convince Tottenham.

It is said that the Ligue 1 giants are still hopeful of signing Alli, with the Spurs star extremely keen on reuniting with Mauricio Pochettino in Paris.

Spurs Web Opinion

Although Mourinho has said that he does not expect the deal to go through before the transfer window shuts, I get the feeling that a deal could be struck on deadline day as Alli’s value will only drop if he continues warming the bench at Spurs.

I do not understand why we would need a replacement considering Ndombele, Lo Celso and Lamela can all play as a number 10 and Mourinho has barely used Alli so far this season.
