Report reveals Tottenham’s contract plans for Eriksen over the coming weeks

Tottenham Hotspur’s star man against Aston Villa at the weekend was not Harry Kane in my opinion, but Christian Eriksen.

Despite the former scoring two goals and the latter only playing 26 minutes, Eriksen simply changed the game when coming on in the closing stages.

He upped the tempo, found gaps between the defence and midfield, and played some killer passes to get Spurs in behind, even narrowly missing a superb free-kick.

However, will the Great Dane still be a Spurs player come September 2, or was he simply playing for a move?

The transfer window shuts in September for the likes of France, Germany, Spain, and Italy, so Eriksen could yet be sold over the next two to three weeks.

The Independent now report that Tottenham are planning to sit down with the 27-year-old before the European window shuts to discuss a new contract.

If a deal can be agreed, Eriksen will sign a new contract. If no agreement is reached, Tottenham will look to sell him before the window shuts this summer.

Fingers crossed it’s the former.
