Report reveals two behind-the-scenes reasons as to why Pochettino was sacked

Tottenham Hotspur have parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino, a sentence that may not have sunk in for a number of Spurs fans still today.

Perhaps even more surprisingly, Spurs have also already named Jose Mourinho as the Argentine’s successor in North London.

To say that Pochettino was a fan favourite around White Hart Lane would be an understatement, with a large chunk of the fanbase left gutted by the decision of Levy and the board.

Pochettino only led the Lilywhites to their first-ever Champions League final a matter of six months ago, as well as boasting four consecutive top-four finishes in the Premier League.

The Daily Mail have now reportedly revealed two of the reasons why Tottenham decided to sack Poch this week, with behind-the-scenes information.

A source apparently told the news outlet that Pochettino had lost the dressing room, with him and the players growing apart. The Mail say this was one of the reasons behind the club’s ultimate decision.

Secondly, the relationship between Pochettino and Levy had apparently deteriorated significantly over the past few months, with the club eventually having no choice but to axe the manager.
