Report reveals two strange and funny presents Dortmund gave Spurs last season

Many fans will remember the infamous matches against Man City and Ajax in the Champions League last season for Tottenham, as they qualified for the final in Madrid.

However, perhaps Tottenham’s most convincing win in the entire competition came in the first knock-out round when they faced Borussia Dortmund.

When the draws were made, Dortmund were flying high at the top of the table in the Bundesliga, making them daunting opponents for the Lilywhites.

Despite this, Pochettino’s boys comfortably battered the German side 3-0 at home before also winning 1-0 in the away leg, coasting through to the next round.

It has now been revealed by The Athletic that Dortmund sent Tottenham two strange and funny gifts following their Champions League matches.

The first was a doormat, as Dortmund felt as if ‘they had been walked over’. The second was a BBQ, as they believed Spurs had ‘roasted’ them.

There’s gracious in defeat and then there is Borussia Dortmund.
