Report reveals two targets that Conte and Paratici have ‘agreed’ on for Spurs

TuttoMercatoWeb have revealed that Tottenham could push ahead with moves for that Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar and Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic after Antonio Conte’s arrival.

The report reveals that Conte has agreed on a ‘list of names’ with Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici to make the club ‘stronger and more competitive’.

Skriniar, whose contract with Inter runs out in 2023, is alleged to be one of those names.

It is explained in the report that Spurs had talks with Inter regarding the centre-back during the summer but later turned their attention to Cristian Romero after facing complications.

It is suggested that the North London club are set to reignite their interest in the Slovakian international following the arrival of Conte.

TMW then add that Vlahovic has been earmarked by Spurs as a potential replacement for Harry Kane should the England captain leave next summer.

However, it is stated that Tottenham face plenty of competition for the Serbian, including from the likes of Juventus and Arsenal.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not expect us to move for Vlahovic in January as I believe the central midfield and centre-back areas are bigger priorities to address. Even when it comes to next summer, I only expect us to move for the Serbian if Kane expresses a desire to leave.

The Skriniar link also seems to be a case of the media putting two and two together. I believe Tottenham are more likely to move for De Vrij than the Slovakian since we lack a centre-back who can play as a central sweeper in Conte’s back three.
