Report reveals update on futures of Kessie and Romagnoli amidst Spurs interest

According to La Repubblica, AC Milan are set to make one final contract offer to Franck Kessie and Alessio Romagnoli, both of whom are rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Both Kessie (Transfermarkt) and Romagnoli (Transfermarkt) will see their current deals at the San Siro run out at the end of the season.

Spurs reportedly tried to sign Kessie during the January transfer window but the Ivory Coast international is thought to have turned them down, preferring to wait until the summer to leave Milan as a free agent (CalcioMeracto).

According to MilanNews.it‘s a recent update, Antonio Conte’s men are leading the race to snap up the midfielder in the summer.

Romagnoli has also been linked with a potential move to Tottenham over recent months (Calciomercato.it).

TuttoMercatoWeb reported last month that while the centre-back’s preference is to continue his career with Milan, the Rossoneri’s contract offer had fallen short of what the player was expecting.

La Repubblica have now revealed that Milan will make one final offer to both Kessie and Romagnoli as Stefano Pioli views both of them as key players in his system.

It is asserted that the two players’ futures could thus soon be resolved as the Serie A giants are set to issue an ultimatum.

Spurs Web Opinion

Both Kessie and Romagnoli will be perfect fits for Conte’s system and would improve our starting eleven. So, one would expect Paratici to be pulling all stops to sign both players if they do not agree on new contracts with Milan.

My gut feeling is that, although there is likely to be more competition for Kessie than Romagnoli, the Ivorian would be more gettable. I would not be surprised if the Italian centre-back agrees on a new deal with Milan over the coming weeks.
