Report reveals update on Kim Min-jae as commentator slates his recent performance

With Jan Vertonghen leaving the club on a free transfer at the end of the season and signing for Benfica, Spurs are left with a vacant hole in their defence.

The Belgian had been a mainstay in the backline for almost the entirety of his eight years in North London, leaving some pretty big shoes to fill.

Fortunately for Tottenham and Jose Mourinho, the club are still left with Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, and Juan Foyth as long-term options.

Not only this, but the emergence of Japhet Tanganga from the academy and Eric Dier’s push back into defence seems to have provided options, at the very least.

However, this has not stopped the Lilywhites from being linked to new central defenders in the summer transfer market, most notably Kim Mim-jae from Beijing Guoan.

In fact, 90 Minutes reported just last month that Tottenham were confident of securing the up-and-coming South Korean defender’s signature this summer.

In the most recent update from Sohu, Kim Min-Jae has apparently been slated for his recent performance by commentator, Li Xin.

Xin reportedly slammed Kim for giving the ball away on the edge of his own box in a 3-3 draw with Qingdao Huanghai on Sunday, while claiming that the centre-back’s attitude was bad and that he didn’t look as though he wanted to play for Beijing Guoan anymore.

Could this be a sign that the defender will force a move, or is it more of a warning sign of his defensive shortcomings?
