Report reveals update on Spurs-linked Traore as he enters final year of deal

According to Sport, Adama Traore, who was linked with a move to Tottenham during the summer transfer window, is yet to decide whether to sign a new contract at Wolves.

In the final few weeks of the transfer window, reports indicated that Spurs could look to snap up Traore as a replacement for Bryan Gil, who had been linked with a loan move to Valencia (Football.London).

The Daily Express reported a little over a week ago that the North London club viewed the pacy wide-man as a cut-price option since he is into the final year of his contract at Wolves. However, Spurs ended up hanging on to Gil while Traore stayed put at Molineux.

Sport have now explained that despite the uncertainty he faced over his future in the final few weeks of the transfer window, Traore is ‘comfortable’ at Wolves and ‘satisfied’ to remain at the club.

The report asserts that the 26-year-old prefers to wait to see how this campaign unfolds before deciding whether to put pen to paper on a new deal.

It is asserted that the Spaniard’s focus for the moment is on becoming a ‘key player’ for Bruno Lage’s side.

Spurs Web Opinion

Traore will not be in a hurry to sign a contract as being a free agent will make him a valuable commodity next summer.

I would not be surprised if Tottenham reignite their interest in the 26-year-old next summer as an option for the right wing-back role, with Doherty now getting on in terms of age and Emerson not being ideally suited to the role.

Spurs’ decision might also come down to how quickly Spence progresses’ and adapts to Conte’s system.
