Report reveals update on Tanganga’s potential move from Spurs to AC Milan

The print edition of Corriere Dello Sport (23/07/22 – as relayed by Sport Witness) has revealed that AC Milan have received ‘positive signals’ from Tottenham regarding Japhet Tanganga.

Previous reports from Italy indicated that Fabio Paratici had met with Milan’s representatives last week to discuss a potential deal for Tanganga (Daniele Longo).

Gazzetta dello Sport (22/07/22 – as relayed by Sport Witness) claimed on Friday that while Milan wanted to sign the defender on loan with an option to buy, Spurs were insisting on including an option to buy rather than an obligation.

However, if Corriere’s latest update is to be believed, there have now been some positive developments in the talks between the Premier League club and the Serie A side.

It is asserted that Tottenham are now open to the idea of loaning Tanganga out with an option to buy but the report states that an agreement on the figures of the deal is ‘evidently missing’.

It is explained that the deal might not happen quickly as the Rossoneri management are being careful with their remaining transfer budget.

Stefano Pioli’s side are thought to be wary of spending too much on Tanganga and risk not having the funds to strengthen other key areas of the squad. Therefore, they are coming up with alternatives to the Spurs defender and will take their time with a decision.

Various reports over recent days have seemingly indicated that there is willingness from all three parties for this deal to go through. So, despite Milan’s financial constraints, I would not be surprised if this transfer is completed within the next week or so.
