Report reveals what Conte ordered Spurs players to do after Burnley postponement

Football Insider have revealed that Antonio Conte ordered the Tottenham Hotspur squad stars to undergo training back in London straight after the postponement of the Burnley game.

Tottenham’s clash against Burnely was called off on Sunday less than an hour before kick-off due to a snowstorm.

Antonio Conte stated after the postponement that he and his players were disappointed as they were prepared to play but he also admitted the right decision had been made, given the condition of the Turf Moor pitch.

Football Insider have now revealed that Conte was not willing to give his players the afternoon off after the postponement was confirmed. Instead, the first-team squad allegedly travelled straight back to London and into Hotspur Way.

It is revealed the players were put through their paces on Sunday, even though they had another training session on Monday.

Conte’s men will now be hoping to put the disappointment of last week’s Europa Conference League loss to NS Mura behind them when they take on Brentford at home on Thursday.

Spurs Web Opinion

I see no reason for Conte to have given the players the day off, particularly given that they would not have trained heavily on Friday and Saturday due to the short turnaround between the trip to Slovenia and the one to Turf Moor.

Conte and his coaching staff do not have many free weeks to work with the squad considering the busy schedule over the next few months. So, they will have to make use of every possible day to bring the squad up to speed with their methods.
