Report reveals what Conte thinks about potentially signing Ivan Perisic for Spurs

According to Tuttosport, Antonio Conte is keen on reuniting with Ivan Perisic at Tottenham Hotspur next season.

ESPN were the first to report last week that Spurs were weighing up a move for Perisic, who has shone at left wing-back at the San Siro this season.

However, the report revealed that Juventus were leading the race for the Croat, whose contract with Inter will run out this summer.

Nerazzurri boss Simone Inzaghi has said that he is hopeful the 33-year-old will put pen to paper on a new contract at Inter (Daily Mail).

Tuttosport have now revealed that Perisic could indeed leave Inter but they suggest the experienced wide-man is not a priority for Juve.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men are allegedly ‘more committed’ to signing Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba, and it is explained that the former’s arrival could ‘pose an obstacle’ to their pursuit of Perisic.

Tuttosport add that Conte would ‘gladly embrace his former pupil’ this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite being 33 years of age, Perisic remains extremely fit and would thrive in Conte’s system at left wing-back. Given that he could be available on a free transfer, the lack of resale value might not put off Spurs all that much. I can certainly see this transfer rumour having some legs.
