Report reveals what Conte’s close friends expect him to do this summer

La Repubblica have claimed that Antonio Conte’s close friends are convinced he is going to leave Tottenham at the end of the season.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding Conte’s future over recent weeks, with reports from Italy suggesting that the Italian could be open to returning to Juventus when his contract with Spurs runs out at the end of the season (Calciomercato).

Tottenham can reportedly activate the option to extend Conte’s contract anytime they wish, according to Football.London.

When quizzed about his future, the Tottenham head coach insisted on Thursday that he is in no rush to extend his deal and he does not need a new contract in order to be committed to the club (Football.London).

However, if La Repubblica are to be believed, Conte’s friends expect him to walk away from the Spurs job at the end of the season.

It is asserted that the 53-year-old does not believe Tottenham have the financial means to compete with the likes of Manchester City, and the North London club’s market approach is unlikely to please the Italian.

La Repubblica also add that a return to Juventus is far from certain for Conte as the Spurs boss would not enjoy managing the Old Lady under the current regime.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs fans should take these reports from Italy with a pinch of salt. Conte is never one to hide his dissatisfaction to the press, and he has generally been complimentary of the Tottenham hierarchy and appears fully committed to the project at hand.
