Report reveals what Daniel Levy has told Mourinho about summer transfer funds

Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, has told Jose Mourinho that he will have to sell senior stars in order to fund the transfer overhaul that he wants this summer.

The club is said to be prioritising loan moves, free transfers, and bargain deals, as reported already by multiple publications (Mirror and Telegraph).

Football Insider also reveals that, as things stand, Spurs could offload Jan Vertonghen (who will become a free agent), Danny Rose, Kyle Walker-Peters, and Serge Aurier, while they are also willing to listen to offers for Erik Lamela.

The report claims that Mourinho wants to reshape the Tottenham squad in his own image this summer and is assessing various targets.

It is asserted that the Lilywhites will primarily look towards the French market this summer with PSG pair Thomas Meunier and Thiago Silva, and Monaco’s Benoit Badiashile said to be among the defensive options on the club’s radar.

Spurs Web Opinion

This report does not really provide any new information that we do not already know. However, I highly doubt if Serge Aurier and Erik Lamela will leave this summer. Jose has shown that he trusts both players, and I expect both of them to be heavily involved in the final nine games of the season.
