Report reveals what Fabio Paratici was doing throughout Chelsea defeat

A report from Football.London has revealed Tottenham managing director of football Fabio Paratici spent much of Sunday’s defeat to Chelsea talking to goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

The Spurs chief is allegedly set to be at the forefront of a busy next few days at the club with a week to go before the transfer window slams shut (ESPN).

Spurs have yet to make a move in the market so far, despite Antonio Conte repeating the necessity of his side needing to be active this month to close the gap in quality to the Premier League’s top sides (Marca).

The issue was magnified once again in his side’s encounter against Chelsea at the weekend, which saw Spurs fall to a 2-0 defeat and a fourth loss of the season in all competitions against the Blues.

But during the match, Football.London reports that Paratici cut an animated figure and spent most of the game chatting with Italian compatriot Gollini on the Spurs bench.

Alasdair Gold wrote: ‘During the game, he spent much of it talking to his compatriot and goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini in the seat in front of him, the two becoming quite animated during parts of the encounter.’

Paratici is on the verge of securing a first signing of the window, with the Evening Standard reporting that Spurs are confident of completing a deal to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore.

It is thought that Conte has identified the Spain international as an ideal profile to come into the side at right wing-back to provide Spurs with a different dimension (Daily Mail).

Spurs Web Opinion

Paratici is set to have a busy few days with Spurs and Conte needing a refresh to the squad. The drop in quality has been pretty obvious to see and that has been shown up again in the recent matches against Chelsea, so that needs to be partially addressed this month – despite so little time remaining.
