Report reveals what Hugo Lloris was heard shouting in defeat to Leeds

Saturday saw Spurs’ hopes of a Champions League finish all but extinguished. Ryan Mason’s team were defeated 3-1 in Leeds, a scoreline that flattered the away-side.

Spurs were trying to capitalise on a surprise defeat for Leicester City on Friday night but came up short in every department in West Yorkshire.

A performance like the one over the weekend has been all too common over the course of the season. Despite being the team that had everything to play for, Tottenham lacked energy and failed to deal with the effort of Marcelo Bielsa’s side on multiple occasions.

The one player who could have left Elland Road with their head held high was Hugo Lloris.

He made five saves on the day and certainly deserved more for his efforts. The captain was reportedly heard shouting desperately at his defence in order to get them organised, but the back four simply couldn’t deal with Leeds on the day.

Football London described how Lloris often looked beleaguered watching the side on Saturday. But sadly for the Frenchman, it was impossible for him to stop the individual errors that were on show both over the weekend and the season as a whole.

Spurs Web Opinion:

People often say that Harry Kane doesn’t deserve the mess that is unfolding at Spurs, but the same should be said for Lloris. The Frenchman is undoubtedly one of the best shot-stoppers in the league and has a great character too. He is a true captain, who has saved numerous potential embarrassments this season.
