Report reveals what Jesse Lingard’s plans are amidst rumoured Spurs interest

According to the Daily Mail, Jesse Lingard is leaning towards ignoring interest from Tottenham ahead of a potential move abroad this summer.

Tottenham have allegedly made contact with the Manchester United midfielder’s representatives regarding the possibility of securing a free transfer at the end of the season.

Lingard’s current deal is due to expire at the end of June and, still out of favour under interim manager Ralf Rangnick, could leave Old Trafford for nothing.

However, Tottenham securing Lingard’s signature may be easier said than done, with the Daily Mail claiming he is set to ignore Premier League interest this month.

The report states the England international intends to see out his United contract and is edging towards making a summer transfer as a free agent to an overseas side.

Since impressing for the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, Lingard has yet to make an impact in the Premier League this season, making just eight appearances from the bench.

Spurs Web Opinion

Lingard would be a decent option for Spurs to bring in at the end of the season – especially on a free transfer. Unless the club makes him an offer he can’t refuse, there isn’t much else they can do if he is keen on securing a move away from England in the summer.
