Report reveals what Ndombele’s agent once said about him joining Man Utd

It has now been revealed that Tanguy Ndombele’s agent previously talked up the possibility of his client joining Manchester United after reports emerged last week that the Red Devils are eyeing a move for the Tottenham midfielder.

Ndombele was expected to leave Tottenham in the summer after reportedly informing Nuno Espirito Santo that he wanted a new challenge. However, a transfer did not materialise and the Frenchman has since been reinstated into the Spurs side.

Ndombele has started Tottenham’s last two matches against Rennes and Chelsea and the 24-year-old showed some promise despite his performance tailing off in the second half of both matches.

CalcioMercato claimed over the weekend that a move to Old Trafford could be on the cards for Ndombele, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men having identified the Spurs star as a potential replacement to Paul Porgba.

Comments made by Ndombele’s agent, Yvan Le Mee, in 2019 about his client potentially joining United have subsequently resurfaced.

Le Mee told TuttoSport (via Tribal Football) at the time: “I imagine him (Ndombele) at Manchester United because he’s like Pogba. Ndombele could replace Pogba.”

Ideally, Tottenham would not want to sell Ndombele to a domestic rival since there is no question about the midfielder’s talent.

However, the North London club might not be left with much choice as Spanish, French or Italian clubs are unlikely to match the 24-year-old’s current salary.
