Report reveals what Poch plans to do with Eriksen if he stays at the club

Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen is still at the North London club, despite issuing a come and get me plea to Europe’s finest way back in June.

Eriksen stated that it was time for him to make a step up and find a new challenge, but would consider a new Spurs contract if no bigs clubs came in for him (Ekstra Bladet).

Despite this, no reports have revealed any formal bids for the player since then, with Eriksen’s contract running out in the summer of 2020.

This means that Spurs need to sell up now or risk losing the Great Dane on a free next summer. However, it appears that Pochettino does not plan to have Eriksen as his first choice even if he does stay.

Spurs are said to be determined to sign either Lo Celso or Fernandes before deadline day as a long-term replacement for Eriksen (Standard).

The Mirror state that Poch will likely bench Eriksen if he stays, with the Express adding that Poch will start Lo Celso or Fernandes over Eriksen, who will drop to the bench.
