Report reveals what Real Madrid stars expect to happen with Spurs-linked Rudiger

Real Madrid stars Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois are both expecting the club to sign their former Chelsea team-mate and alleged Tottenham target Antonio Rudiger, according to The Telegraph.

The Belgian pair both swapped England for Spain, with goalkeeper Courtois leaving in 2018 after losing his place in the Blues line-up, while Hazard joined his compatriot the following year for a massive £150 million fee.

However, The Telegraph claim both Hazard and Courtois are confident that Los Blancos can secure a deal for Rudiger in the summer.

The Germany international has entered the final year of his deal at Stamford Bridge and with contract talks allegedly at a stand-still, he may be able to talk to foreign clubs about signing a pre-contract in January.

The report states that Madrid would be willing to double Rudiger’s current £140,000-a-week wage packet – a move that could significantly dent Tottenham’s hopes of signing him.

Spurs have been keeping tabs on the central defender’s situation for some time now, with manager Antonio Conte allegedly keen to generate a reunion from West to North London.

Spurs have kept tabs on Rudiger’s situation for a while now, but there won’t be much they can do if a club like Real Madrid offers him a massive salary.

He is obviously a good player, but Spurs may have to back away from this deal if things get too expensive and not worthwhile.
