Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the appointments of Simon Davies and Yaya Toure to the club’s academy coaching department.
Earlier this week, Spurs revealed that Jermain Defoe has returned to the club as a member of the academy coaching staff and as club ambassador.
The North London club have now confirmed that Defoe will be joined by Davies and Toure, with the former joining in the new role of Head of Coaching Methodology.
Toure will become the club’s new under-16 coach, while Defoe is filling a new role that will see him work with staff across the Under-17 to Under-21 age levels.
Toure, who won the Premier League title three times during his time at Manchester City, had an initial spell working with the Spurs academy staff during the second half of last season.
The Ivory Coast international has now set to take over as Tottenham’s new Under-16s coach. Here’s how Toure reacted after joining Spurs:
I am delighted to be working at @SpursOfficial alongside brilliant coaches and young players.
Everyone at the Academy and across the Club has made me feel very welcome.
Thanks also to my friend and advisor @Leon_Mann for his support here.
Let’s do this! COYS!! 🙌🏾 https://t.co/BGObPnGNA3
