The Telegraph have reported that a number of Tottenham players are excited by the potential arrival of Antonio Conte in North London and view the appointment as a ‘coup’.
The report also states that Tottenham are now confident that Conte will be the club’s new manager, they just have to iron out some details in the contract talks.
Sky Sports Italia broke the news this week that Daniel Levy and co had opened talks with Conte over potentially making him the new head coach of Tottenham.
Spurs have been without a permanent boss since Mourinho was sacked back in April, with interim head coach, Ryan Mason, seeing the season out.
Sky Italia reported that the former Chelsea boss is looking for €3 million more than Tottenham are offering (via Sport Witness). However, Spurs are willing to offer a year-on-year wage increase and bonuses in order to convince Conte.
However, the Telegraph do not reveal which Spurs players are excited by the potential arrival of the recent Serie A winner.
