Report reveals what Spurs-linked Merih Demiral wants to do this summer

Reported Tottenham target, Merih Demiral is reportedly hoping to leave Juventus this summer, although the price being quoted by the Italians could be a potential sticking point (CalcioMercato).

Demiral struggled for minutes throughout the 2020/21 campaign with the likes of Georgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Matthijs de Ligt all ahead of him in the Juventus pecking order.

The centre-back had a chance to put himself in the shop window this summer as he lined up for Turkey at Euro 2020, but his country fell flat on the international stage. In fact, the Juve man opened the scoring at the tournament with an own goal against Italy.

Multiple sources have claimed that Fabio Paratici, Tottenham’s new managing director of football and former Juventus employee, wants to link up with Demiral in North London (TuttosportSport Mediaset and Football Italia).

It has also been reported that West Ham and Everton are interested in the defender, however, Juventus want around £35m for Demiral this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If the starting price is £35m then I can imagine that Juventus will be able to come down to just below £30m, especially if Demiral has his heart set on one particular move. He would be a fantastic signing for Spurs this summer in a much-needed position.
