Report reveals what Spurs would have to bid to open Bastoni talks with Inter Milan

According to the print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (25/05/22 – as relayed by Sport Witness), Inter Milan would be open to the idea of cashing in on Alessandro Bastoni this summer.

Spurs are expected to prioritise signing a left-sided centre-back to offer competition to Ben Davies during this summer’s transfer window (The Athletic).

Alasdair Gold revealed this week on his YouTube Channel (starting at 10:06) that Fabio Paratici has several left centre-back options on his radar but Bastoni is the one that both he and Conte prefer.

The journalist added that signing the 23-yar-old would prove ‘difficult’ for Spurs since Inter are likely to demand a big fee for the defender.

Gazzetta have now claimed that the Serie A club would be open to cashing in on Bastoni. It is explained that Inter want to keep Lautaro Martinez but need to make money to balance their books, with the centre-back being one of the primary candidates to be sold.

The report adds that Spurs are ‘monitoring’ Bastoni’s situation, with Conte thought to believe that the Italian international could become one of the best in the world in his position.

However, Gazzetta claim that it will take an offer of around €60m (£50.9m) to get the Nerazzurri to the negotiating table.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Bastoni has only two years left on his contract, the price being reported is quite steep. Inter will be looking to get a bidding war going for the 23-year-old. Hopefully, the Conte connection will give us an advantage over the centre-back’s other suitors.
