Clement Lenglet is expected to receive his work permit next week after undergoing a medical at Tottenham ahead of a loan move from Barcelona, according to L’Equipe.
The report explains the France international defender underwent medical tests on Friday morning but will have to wait until next week for his work permit and international clearance to be granted.
The news means Lenglet, 27, is not expected to gain a visa in time to join his new Tottenham teammates in jetting off for their pre-season tour of South Korea on Saturday (Evening Standard).
Lenglet’s imminent move comes after a miserable campaign with Barcelona, while his place in the squad had been threatened further by the arrival of Andreas Christensen from Chelsea.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed Spurs do not hold an option to make the move permanent next summer and will pay Barca a loan fee as well as part of the centre-back’s salary.
Lenglet is set to become the fifth summer signing for Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici following the earlier acquisitions of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison.

This is not exactly ideal for Spurs and Conte as he will have wanted the majority of his new signings available for their tour of South Korea.
While we do not know exactly when the permit will be granted next week, hopefully it arrives quickly so he can fly out himself and join up with the team.
