Report reveals when Djed Spence to Spurs is expected to be finalised

Tottenham Hotspur could be set to complete their third signing ahead of the new season early next week, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims there is an expectation that Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence will finalise his move to north London in the early part of the week.

Spurs are said to be closing in on a £20million deal for the England Under-21 international who spent the whole of last season on loan at newly-promoted Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham have already brought in Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster as free agents following the conclusion of their contracts at Inter Milan and Southampton respectively, with the club aiming to wrap up this transfer business early in the window.

The north Londoners travel to South Korea next month as part of their pre-season preparations when they face Team K-League in Seoul on Wednesday 13 July which is followed by a match against Sevilla at the Suwon World Cup Stadium on Saturday 16 July.

Given Conte’s reliance on how a wing-back should operate in his tactical system, it makes perfect sense why he would want to wrap up a deal for Spence well in advance of the boarding party to South Korea.
