Report reveals when Spurs could announce Antonio Conte’s appointment

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur could announce the appointment of Antonio Conte as their head coach as early as Tuesday.

Tottenham announced this morning that they had parted ways with Nuno Espirito Santo and his coaching staff and there has been plenty of speculation over the last few hours suggesting Conte is set to replace the Portuguese coach.

The Telegraph have now revealed that the talks between Tottenham and Conte’s entourage are proceeding well, with negotiations now thought to be at an advanced stage.

The report reveals that Conte and the Spurs hierarchy are on good terms despite the talks breaking down in the summer, partly because of the relationship the former Inter boss has with Fabio Paratici, with whom he worked at Juventus.

It is explained that the 52-year-old is now due to arrive in London for a face-to-face meeting with Paratici and Daniel Levy, with Spurs hopeful that the meeting will be enough to clinch an agreement with Conte.

If the talks go as planned, it is said that the North London club could announce the Italian’s appointment as early as tomorrow.

Spurs fans will be wary of getting carried away given the way our managerial hunt proceeded in the summer.

However, one would assume that both Conte and the Tottenham hierarchy would have a very clear idea of where each other stand, particularly given their talks in June.

So, it is unlikely that the Italian would come to London for face-to-face talks unless both parties expect an agreement to be reached.
