Report reveals when Tottenham will announce the signing of Sergio Reguilon

The Telegraph have now reported that Tottenham Hotspur are set to finalise a deal with Real Madrid to sign Sergio Reguilon as early as today (Wednesday).

In terms of a public announcement to fans, the report claims that Spurs will likely leave this until Thursday.

The transfer is expected to set Tottenham back around £27.6m this summer, with Manchester United also having shown interest in the young full-back.

The 23-year-old impressed last season in La Liga on loan to Sevilla, during which time he made 38 appearances and scored three goals across all competitions (Wikipedia).

Reguilon is a product of the Real Madrid B team and has been on the books since 2015, with Los Blancos insisting on a buy-back clause this summer.

However, it is said that Reguilon does not feature in Zidane’s immediate plans at Real Madrid, hence why the Spanish giants are open to selling him this window.

The player himself wanted to wait until the conclusion of the Europa League before making his decision and now looks set to put pen to paper on a Tottenham contract.
