Report reveals whether Bergwijn deal would impact Spurs striker search

Tottenham Hotspur will likely be without Harry Kane until at least early April, when Spurs claim they expect him to return to training.

This comes after the England captain ruptured the tendon in his left hamstring against Southampton back on New Years Day, which required surgery to correct.

Unfortunately for Jose Mourinho, the Special One has no other senior strikers to choose from in his squad, meaning that Lucas Moura and Heung Min Son have been forced to cover.

Today, reports have emerged that Spurs may be interested in signing PSV winger, Steven Bergwijn before the January window shuts for a fee of around £21m (Daily Mail).

The player has subsequently been left out of PSV’s matchday squad to face FC Twente today and their interim coach has confirmed that he wants to leave the club.

The Guardian have now claimed that Bergwijn’s agent is in England to explore a deal, but there is no agreement yet. The report also adds that Mourinho still wants a new striker regardless of the Bergwijn deal.
