90 min have claimed that Brennan Johnson is keen to join Tottenham and work with Ange Postecoglou.

Multiple reports over the last few days have claimed that Spurs have now moved into pole position ahead of Chelsea to sign Johnson, with the Nottingham Forest star said to prefer joining the Lilywhites over the Blues (Times).

However, The Independent reported on Thursday that the North London club are still far away from meeting Forests‘ valuation for the 22-year-old, having been left frustrated by the negotiations so far.

Brennan Johnson wants to secure a Tottenham move

90 min have now also said that Spurs are at the front of the queue for Johnson’s services but they assert that Forest have now put an asking price of £50m on the player.

The report states that while the Wales international is not agitating to leave the City Ground, his head has been turned by Tottenham’s interest.

It is alleged that the lure of Spurs and working with Postecoglou is ‘the most appealing’ option to Johnson and his representatives at the moment.

£50m is quite a steep price for a player who is still relatively unproven at the highest level but given how inflated the market is, especially for players within the Premier League, Forest’s demands are not surprising. It looks like Spurs might have to spend the bulk of the Kane fee on the 22-year-old if they want to bring him in before the transfer window shuts.
