Report reveals whether Gareth Bale will play any part in upcoming Wales friendly

The Sun have revealed that Wales caretaker boss, Robert Page will rest Gareth Bale for their upcoming international friendly on Thursday so that he can be fully fit for their Nations League double-header next week.

Bale made his first Premier League start since his return to Spurs at the Hawthorns on Sunday, although the Welshmangot little joy against a stubborn Baggies defence before being withdrawn with little over ten minutes to go.

The winger was pictured wearing an ice pack on his ankle after coming off on Sunday but Page, who is temporarily in charge of Wales after Ryan Giggs withdrew from the current international camp following allegations of assault, confirmed that Bale is fit enough to make the squad (BBC).

Jose Mourinho implored Wales to be careful in the way they manage the winger’s fitness during the international break (Sky Sports).

It appears that the Tottenham boss is going to get his wish as The Sun report that the 31-year-old is not expected to play any part in their friendly against the USA on Thursday.

Instead, Page is said to be wrapping the Tottenham star in cotton wool ahead of their Nations League matches against Republic of Ireland and Finland next week.
