Report reveals whether Grealish transfer will impact Man City’s Kane pursuit

According to The Sun, Manchester City’s pursuit of Harry Kane will not be affected by their £100m move for Jack Grealish.

It emerged a couple of weeks ago that Daniel Levy had agreed to sell Kane to City for £160m but this report was apparently denied by Tottenham, who maintain the striker is not for sale.

It is Kane’s England teammate, Grealish, who now looks more likely to be the first new player to arrive through the doors at the Etihad this summer, with reports suggesting that the Premier League champions have made a £100m offer for the Aston Villa star.

The Sun have now revealed that Grealish is waiting for the green light from Villa to complete the transfer.

They add that Pep Guardiola’s side will look to complete a deal for Kane after they secure the 25-year-old’s signature but it is explained that they are not willing to meet Tottenham’s £160m asking price.

It has been widely reported this morning that Kane failed to report back for pre-season training with Tottenham (Sky Sports).

Spurs Web Opinion

I was confident at the start of the summer that Kane would stay put at Tottenham for at least another season as I could not see anyone paying more than £150m for him in the current economic climate.

However, I now believe that there is a decent chance that Kane will be a City player before the end of the transfer window.

The fact that Guardiola’s men have not moved for the likes of Haaland or Lukaku suggests that they are quite confident about snapping up the England captain.
