Report reveals whether Lyon are interested in signing Tanguy Ndombele this summer

CalcioMercato have claimed that Tanguy Ndombele will return to Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season following his loan spell at Lyon.

Lyon have the option to make Ndombele’s loan deal permanent for a fee of £54m (Sky Sports).

The midfielder has burned hot and cold since his return to the Groupama Stadium and has come under criticism for his work rate at times (RMC via Foot Radio).

The 25-year-old produced a fantastic display last week to help Lyon come away with a 1-1 draw from the London Stadium in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final against West Ham.

However, Ndombele followed that up with a poor display in the return leg on Thursday and was taken off at half-time as the Hammers emerged 3-0 winners.

GFFN gave the on-loan Spurs man a rating of 3/10, labelling his performance as ‘erratic’ and criticising his positioning.

CalcioMercato have now claimed that Lyon have decided not to exercise the option to sign Ndombele permanently.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs will face major difficulties in finding a buyer for Ndombele this summer unless the Frenchman decides to take a substantial wage cut.

I do not think many clubs would even be willing to offer him half the salary that we are currently paying him.

Tottenham would have been hoping that PSG show interest but the Ligue 1 giants might think twice on the back of his performances for Lyon.
