Report reveals whether Man City are expected to reignite Kane interest

EuroSport have claimed that Manchester City are unlikely to pursue Harry Kane again next year after failing to sign the Tottenham striker this summer.

Kane was heavily linked with a move to City all summer, with the striker failing to report to pre-season training in time after his summer holiday in an alleged effort to push through the transfer.

However, the striker was reintegrated into the Tottenham team by Nuno Espirito Santo once it became clear that the transfer will not be going through.

Pep Guardiola admitted City tried everything they could to sign the 28-year-old but Daniel Levy simply refused to negotiate.

Sources have subsequently revealed the striker could begin talks with Tottenham over a new contract.

EuroSport have now suggested that Guardiola’s men are not expected to make a renewed attempt for Kane next summer.

It is explained that, while the reigning Premier League champions are continuing to look for ways to evolve the team by making attacking additions, they are likely to look past Kane next summer.

If City do not reignite their interest in Kane in January or next summer, that would seriously limit the striker’s options. Manchester United would likely be the only other club he could realistically join if he wants to remain in the Premier League.
