Report reveals which PL club Spurs-linked Djed Spence dreams of playing for

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has claimed that Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence, who is on Tottenham’s radar, dreams of playing for Manchester United one day.

Spence’s impressive displays on loan at Nottingham Forest this season have got many top-flight clubs to stand up and take notice, including Spurs.

Tottenham allegedly failed with an offer to sign the Boro starlet during the January transfer window (90min

The Telegraph reported last week that with the Lilywhites being so close to reaching the limit of total foreign players allowed in European competition, the club are likely to prioritise moving for a homegrown player like Spence over the likes of Wilfried Singo.

Spurs are thought to be facing competition from Brentford (The Sun) and Arsenal (The Sunday Mirror – 3/4; page 71) for the 21-year-old.

Plettenberg has now taken to social media to reveal that Spence has five offers on the table ahead of the summer transfer window.

The journalist revealed that the right-back, who is valued at €12m-€15m (£10m-£12.5m), grew up supporting Man Utd and dreams of playing for the Red Devils.

Spurs Web Opinion

It sounds like there is going to be a mad scramble for Spence’s signature this summer. I expect Spurs to push hard for the 21-year-old, given that a right wing-back is likely to be a priority, and due to our shortage of homegrown players for European competitions.
