Report reveals why Conte might not take charge of Spurs against Vitesse Arnhem

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Football Italia), Antonio Conte might have to wait until the weekend to take charge of Tottenham due to potential delays with his working visa.

Conte is set to replace Nuno Espirito Santo as the Tottenham head coach, with the Italian’s arrival causing plenty of excitement among the Spurs fans.

The former Chelsea boss will be looking to swiftly turn around the side’s fortunes in the Premier League as well as the Europa Conference League.

However, Gazzetta have now suggested that while the Italian can oversee training sessions with the Tottenham players from today, he might not be able to take charge of the team for their Conference League clash against Vitesse on Thursday.

This is because the North London club are still thought to be working on getting a working visa for the 52-year-old.

If it does not arrive in time for Thursday’s match, it is explained that Conte will have to wait until Spurs’ trip to Goodison Park on Sunday to take charge of his first match.

One would not expect the work visa to take too long to be sorted out. It would certainly be ideal for Conte will take charge of the side against Vitesse as you would want the Italian’s first match in charge to be in front of the home crowd.
